Changing a parenting plan in the Tri-Cities

Life changes. Someone moves, work hours change, or the kids get older. When your parenting plan doesn’t fit anymore, mediation can help you update it together, without starting a court fight.

What we work on

  • What changed, and what isn’t working anymore
  • A new weekly schedule that fits your lives now
  • Holidays and school breaks
  • Travel and pick-ups if someone moved farther away
  • How you’ll handle changes in the future

What to expect

We only work on what needs to change. We meet in person in the Tri-Cities or on Zoom, at a pace that works for both of you.

The changes go into a written agreement. You or your attorneys can use it to update your plan with the court.

Common questions

Do we still have to go to court?

Usually the court still needs to approve changes to a parenting plan. Agreeing first can make that step much simpler. An attorney can tell you what your case needs.

What if the other parent lives far away?

That’s okay. We can meet on Zoom from anywhere in Washington, so nobody has to travel.

How long does it take?

It depends on how much needs to change and on both of your schedules. We set up meetings at a pace that works for everyone.
